Privacy Policy

This policy sets out how Newstead Digital handles personal information collected through this website. In this policy, I, me and my means Newstead Digital, ABN 53 559 890 521.
I am a one person business. There is no team, no call centre and no account manager. When you send an enquiry, I am the person who reads it.
What I collect
Through the enquiry form on this site: your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, your website address if you choose to give it, and whatever you write in the message field.
Through website analytics: pages visited, time on page, how you arrived at the site, approximate location based on your IP address at city level, and device and browser type.
I do not collect credit card or payment details through this website. I do not ask for your date of birth, address or any government identifier.
Why I collect it
To read and reply to your enquiry. To provide services you have asked me about or engaged me for. To keep ordinary business records, including quotes and invoices. To understand which pages of the site are useful, so I can improve it. And to meet legal or tax obligations where they apply.
I do not send marketing emails. If that ever changes, I will ask before adding you to anything, and every message will have an unsubscribe link.
Who else sees it
I do not sell personal information. I do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
A small number of services necessarily handle it because they run the site: Framer, which hosts this website and processes form submissions; Google Analytics, which provides the website statistics described above; and Google Workspace, where my email is held.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia. By sending an enquiry you accept that your information may be handled overseas by those providers.
Beyond that, I would only disclose personal information if the law required it, or if I needed advice from an accountant or lawyer who is themselves bound to keep it confidential.
Cookies
This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and understand how pages are used. It sets no advertising or retargeting cookies, and there are no tracking pixels for social media platforms. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The site works either way.
How long I keep it
Enquiries are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of working together, and after that only as long as tax and business record rules require. If you ask me to delete your details and there is no legal reason to keep them, I will.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over HTTPS and the form is protected against automated spam. Enquiries arrive in my email and are not published anywhere.
No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee the security of information sent to me online. What I can say is that I do not hold more than I need, and I do not pass it on.
Your rights
Access. Ask me what I hold about you and I will tell you, at no charge.
Correction. Tell me if something is wrong and I will fix it.
Deletion. Ask me to delete your details and I will, unless I am required to keep them.
Complaint. If you think I have mishandled your information, contact me first. If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

This site links to other websites, including my clients’ sites. I have no control over them and this policy does not cover them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes I will publish the updated version here and change the date at the top.
