Local SEO / Brisbane

Local SEO for Brisbane small businesses.

When someone nearby searches for what you do, your business should be one of the first they see. I work on the things that decide that: your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your website and your details across the web. You deal with me directly, and the person who does the work is the person who answers.

What is local SEO?

Local SEO is the work that gets you found by people searching nearby. Your Google Business Profile, your local search presence, and the parts of your website that tell Google where you operate and what you do.

It is not a one-off trick. It is making sure Google has every reason to show you to people nearby, and that when they find you, they have every reason to get in touch.

What local SEO is, and why it matters

How does Google decide who shows up nearby?

Google says local results are mainly based on three things, and that there is no way to pay for a better local ranking. Two of the three are where the work is.

  • Relevance

How well your Business Profile matches what someone searched for.

What I can do: I make sure your categories, services, description and website say exactly what you do, in the words your customers use.

  • Distance

How far your business is from the person searching.

What I can do: Nothing, honestly. Nobody can move your business. I will tell you where you can realistically show up, and where you cannot.

  • Prominence

How well known your business is, from reviews to links and mentions on other websites.

What I can do: Reviews asked for and answered, consistent details everywhere, and listings on the directories and local sites that matter for your trade.

What does local SEO with me include?

Six parts, worked on in the order that will make the most difference to you. It is available at any of the three levels of help, from setting it up to looking after it month to month.

  • Google Business Profile

Set up or cleaned up: categories, services, hours, photos and a description that matches what you do.

  • Reviews

A simple way to ask customers for reviews, and replies to the ones you get.

  • Service and area content

Pages and wording that tell Google what you do and where you do it.

  • Consistent business details

Your name, address and phone number matching everywhere they appear online.

  • Local structured data

The behind-the-scenes markup that tells search engines you are a real local business.

  • Plain-English reporting

What people searched to find you and what they did next, without the jargon.

Google Business Profile optimisation.

Your Google Business Profile, which used to be called Google My Business, is often the first thing a customer sees. It decides whether you appear on the map at all. These are the checks I run on it first.

Then reviews: a simple way to ask happy customers, and a reply to every one you get, good or bad.

  • Main category

The single strongest choice on the profile, and often the wrong one.

  • Additional categories

The other things you do, so you show up for those searches too.

  • Services

Every service listed, using the options Google offers first.

  • Hours

Regular and holiday hours kept right, because being open when someone searches counts.

  • Description and photos

What you do and where, said plainly, with real photos of the work.

  • Address or service area

Shown correctly for how you work, with the map pin in the right place.

How long does it take?

There is no fixed timeline, and anyone who promises one is guessing. Fixing what is wrong or missing on your profile can make a difference within weeks. Reviews and a reputation across the web build over months. I judge it on calls and enquiries, not on a ranking screenshot.

How long local SEO takes to work

What I will not promise.

  • A guaranteed first place

Google says no one can guarantee a number one ranking. Anyone who does is guessing or worse.

  • Fake or bought reviews

They break Google's rules and can cost you the whole profile.

  • Keywords stuffed into your business name

Your profile carries your real trading name. Adding extra words breaks Google's guidelines and risks suspension.
